9 April, 2008: Minutes of Monthly Online Meeting
Location: 9pm ET in a Yahoo! Messenger Chat Room
Attendance: Kirsten Brazier, Gwen Davis, Robin Turner
Items discussed:
It seemed appropriate to hold an impromptu social session for the meeting so no real agenda was followed. We tested the “talk” capability of the Yahoo Messenger program, and found it to be somewhat lacking – due to lack of a good microphone in one case, and the usual lag associated with internet voice communications.
Gwen is on a roll with fundraising and Chapter activity ideas and came up with the idea of holding online board games such as Checkers or Chess between members. The idea is to ante up for each game and play rounds with each other till a winner finally wins and receives a small prize. Also, we bounced around ideas for the Corporate Challenge suggested in last month’s Leading Edge and there was positive discussion and feedback over both ideas.
Kirsten requested pictures and bios from our two newer members, to publish on the website. Gwen’s has now been published and Robin promises to send hers in soon… This topic prompted a round of pictures, using the “share file” feature of Yahoo Messenger. It was neat to be able to do this and learn a little something about each other.
For the rest of the meeting we talked about dogs, airplanes kids and other interesting tidbits from each other’s lives. It was a warm and friendly meeting, enjoyed by all.
