I
began flying in 1987 immediately after college. I became interested
in flying while driving flight crews in a hotel van. Later,
I found out a coworker at the restaurant where I worked was
a private pilot. She took me for a ride in a C-150 and I knew
I was hooked.
I
took the usual route of traffic watch, flight instructing,
flying freight... I spent 4 years flying Turbo
Commanders and Lears for Wal-Mart, a job that I loved but I
didn't see being compatible with having a family. I met my
husband there and we moved back home to VA. I then spent 3
years flying Dash 8s for USAir Express. Our son was born in
2001. Four months after returning to work I made the decision
to stay home for a few years. I missed flying a lot and three
years later I had the opportunity to go back part time.
I
am flying for Martinair, a charter/management company in
Richmond, VA.
I am the Director of Training, Captain on the Lear 35s and
First Officer on the Lear 45s.
