Tracy Leonard

I began flying while attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and a Minor in Safety. My first flying job was Flight Instructing at Air San Luis in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Next, I flew for Scenic Airlines, conducting scenic tours of the Grand Canyon, and was based in Sedona, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV. During this time period, I completed training for scholarships that I earned from The Ninety-Nines (MEI) and ISA+21 (ATP). My first airline job was flying the Beech 1900D for Air Midwest. My bases included: Kansas City, MO; Omaha,
NE; and Hays, KS.

Eventually, I reached my dream of flying for a major airline when I was hired by US Airways to fly the B737-200 out of Baltimore, MD. Then, just like a number of people I was furloughed after September 11th. After six months of involuntary vacation I was lucky to be hired by Great Plains Airlines. I flew the Dornier 328 jet out of Tulsa, OK. My current career path has taken me to the fractional industry with NetJets Aviation. I flew the Gulfstream 200 as Second in Command and am now an IOE Captain on the Hawker 400XP. Now I have the best base of them all--flying from my home in Denver, CO!
