I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada, with my husband (a
retired pilot due to the loss of his medical). I'm a First
Officer
on the DC-10/30 and literally fly all over the world. I have
been a flight attendant, ramper, cargo agent, and an FBO
customer service agent before deciding at 26 to "sit up front".
I'm 35 now and have to say there were a few times I thought
I would give it all up...I missed my family, spent months
at a time away (at crew houses) for little to no pay, just
to get by. Yet through the support and encouragement of countless
individuals I stuck it out and am constantly rewarded and
awed by what I do for a living! I've realized I won't receive
the same level of pay as previous pilots (my dad was with
Northwest Airlines for 35 yrs) but the people I've met, the places I've
seen.....WOW! I hope that so many other people find the joy in flying that
I've been blessed to find.
